Amazing facility. Bring your family. There are so many activities. Even pet friendly. Loved the healthy options at the snack bar. And check out the team dorm option. Wish we would have known about it ahead of time.
Went to screams at the beach and it was really good maybe over the top touching but for the most part it was great
Great place to bring your team for a weekend of baseball. This was our 2nd tournament there and we had a blast. Regardless of summer or fall, the weather is great and there is plenty of activities outside of the tournament to see and do. The only downside is route 1, the main highway, which is almost always a headache.
Had a bad experience here a couple of weeks ago with our team that traveled from NY to be there... be careful of some odd substitution rules, and unfriendly umpires and local team coaches. Played a local team that knew all the rules and knew the umps well... Had a batting out of order out due to a typo on a last initial that the other manager was hanging onto until we had runners on and the hitter up in his second at bat... then umps wouldn't explain odd substitution rules and were basically telling our coach that he couldn't do what the other team was doing (pairing players and free substituting the pair) because he didn't declare it before the game... not only did the rules NOT say that, the other coach continued to make new pairs throughout the game with no prior declaration. It cost us, we lost a semifinal 2-1. Shame on our organization for not bringing our coach up to speed, but shame on the opposing coaches and umpires for treating a youth team that traveled a long way so poorly, and shame on Sports at the Beach for creating such a bad environment here for out-of-towners.
Evidently the tournaments are auto booked by their website. Had games scheduled for 8:30am and 4:00pm on Saturday. Anyone who has ever played in a travel tournament knows that is not typical. Often maybe a couple hours between games but not 6 1/2 hours. Called a live person at SATB who said "sorry nothing can be done about it". Guess the website makes all the important decisions......Don't worry, I'll have my 7 dollars per person ready for the parking attendant though!
